Where Will Your Journey in Italia Take You?

A New Way To Explore

Slow Food is a global movement advocating for good, clean, and fair food that started in Italy in the 1980s as a response to a fast food restaurant opening near the Spanish Steps in Rome, Italy. Today, the organization’s headquarters is located in Bra, Italy, and it has offices worldwide.

Learning about Slow Food made us appreciate the hours, days, months, and even years of care that go into preparing the food and wine we enjoy. We’ve come to love long, leisurely meals and the stories behind each dish. We’ve learned to savor the best of the season and to discover the unique specialties of every region we visit.

Slow Travel is literally that: traveling at a slower pace. The first time we experienced slow travel was on our first trip to Italy together. We learned what la dolce vita was all about: savoring simple daily pleasures like good food, beautiful surroundings, and time with each other.

This concept has changed the way we travel. It’s not about rushing from sight to sight or from city to city, but savoring the meaningful moments that help us understand the places we visit. Thus, Slow Food Travelers was born. We hope the lessons we’ve gathered along the way spark inspiration for your own journeys.
